Occupation: Owns a sports store; runs kayaksurf, waveski and rolling courses during the Summer and is also a free lance journalist.
Paddling since: More than 25 years.
Gear (kayak, helmet, paddle, etc): Salsa from Murky and Neutron from Mega; Helmet Gath, Lendal Mystik paddle, anorak Nookie, spraydeck Nookie, buoyancy aids Delta.

Most Recently:
2009 Kayaksurf World Champion, Grand Master IC and HP,
2008 Euskadi- Basque Kayaksurf Champion Masters long y short.
2007 1st place on the Bakio Kayaksurf Open HP and 2nd in IC.
2005 1st Place on the Bakio Kayaksurf Open, HP Class.
Also participated in six Waveski World Championships:
1992 - La Torche, World Cup.
1995 - Lacanau, France.
1998 – England.
1999 - Florianopolis, Brasil.
2000 - J. Bay, South Africa.
2001 - World Waveski Champion / Masters / Bakio.
Six Kayaksurf World Championships:
Since1997 (Thurso, Scotland), till 2009 in Portugal.
Two times European Champ (94 and 96) in Waveski, Grand Master Class – at this time, Grand Master Class was after 35 years old).
Favourite break: Bakio-Mundaka / Steamer Lane, California and Jeffreys Bay, South Africa.

Worlds in Portugal: Excellent championship, with waves for every tastes during the event (like the sand bottoms cause).

How do you see the evolution of kayaksurf in the near future?
It will grows in proportion with the media exposure that is around our sport.
How is kayaksurf in Basque Country?
In Basque Country, we’re still a few but every time more. There is a growing interest around kayaksurf and it is already familiar in the beaches.
Personal objectives in the sport:
Surf till 80 years old, between kayaksurf and waveski just like I did till now.
Personal thoughts about Portugal:
Nice place and nice people.

I would like to thank Santa Cruz Ocean Spirit organization and all the staff for the efforts done to run this World Championship and I hope to see you all in the water doing kayaksurf.
